A few weeks ago, TTM were one of the sponsors for the Southend United vs Solihull Moors National League Match, the nominated Match for Mind in South East and Central Essex, which was the closest home game for the Blues to World Mental Health Week.
One of many initiatives organised by Chris Phillips to raise funds for SECE Mind, which also included a match between Run Free, a mental health group focused on using sports as a means of supporting individuals in a team environment, and Southend Airport, who are corporate sponsors of Southend United.
Southend beat Solihull 5-0, despite their off field issues. Run Free beat Southend Airport 7-0, which I must say did the world of good for the team too.
A grand total of £11,000 was raised for the local charity, which is not funded by the national charity, and will be used to support their various projects locally.
SECE Mind provide supported housing, counselling for both adults and children, PACE support, mental health training and mental health signposting to anyone who needs it.
Promo T-Shirts like the ones worn by the team are available for £10 plus postage, with all proceeds going to SECE Mind . Simply drop us a line on the contact form and we can arrange this for you.
Nobody should have to face a mental health issue alone.
